Core: The core is completed with laminated and small loss electrical steel sheets that is imported, grain oriented, cold rolled and sheets of superior quality steel. The cores are accumulated in a manner that they decreases the sound caused by trembling; individual stamping are layered with insulation polish which is defiant to heat and oil on both sides. The core is associated to the clamp which guarantees that it is effectually earthed. The core legs are surrounded with heavy duty insulating tape. The yokes are firmly and safely fastened amid the folded steel channels. Clamps on top and bottom are rigidly connected to each other by the means of tie rods. Tie rods offers the dual purpose of reassigning the load from the bottom to the top clamps and securing the winding in place. This avoids tensile stress being associated in the core legs, which could unfavorably influence the iron losses.
WINDING: Transformer windings also called 'Coils' are specifically intended to meet three basic prerequisites: thermal, mechanical and electrical. These windings wound concentrically and are cylinder shaped. Both H.V. & L.V. type windings are wound with sufficient securing and brazing tapes in order to get a strong, forceful and self-supporting arrangement. It is offered with inter layer ducts which make sure low heat grade between windings and oil so the hot spot temperature is kept to low. This ensures that the rate of insulation corrosion is lowered to achieve high life expectancy.
WINDING CONNECTIONS: Tapping and phase leads run in paper covered conductors. Sufficient barriers are used to detach the phase leads from the tapping. Severely brazed tubes are used to preserve the required clearance from coil to tank.
LV Leads, larger in cross-section, are generally strong and tough, where needed supports are provided.
INSULATION AND IMPREGNATION
The major ingredient of insulation is padding pre-compacted pressboard. The element like ring ducts merged spacer; blocks etc. are put under pressing along with the coil assembly for preshrinking. The irrelevant improvement in dimension after the preshrinking is pleased by providing additional insulation.
